About Sharon Wheeler-Hancoff

Sharon was on staff at Esalen Institute in Big Sur, California teaching Esalen Massage when she met Dr. Rolf. She trained in Structural Integration, taking her audit and practition in the two Big Sur River House classes in 1969. She trained the first Rolf Movement Integration class with Judith Aston in 1970. In 1973 Sharon did a second practitioner class with Dr. Rolf at the Adam’s House in Big Sur. In 1979 she did the Philadelphia Advanced Training with Dr. Rolf.

Sharon is a member of the Guild for Structural Integration, the Rolf Institute for Structural Integration and the International Association of Structural Integrators. She is a member of the Soroptmists International of Port Orchard.

She maintains a practice in Structural Integration, Rolfing, and Rolf Movement in Port Orchard WA. She teaches Continuing Education classes for IASI and RISI. Her classes include original techniques for working with scar tissue, torque for the cranium, and seeing. She is currently working on a research pilot project measuring the effect of torque applied to the cranium.

Other interests have been the study of Mythology with Joseph Campbell, Core Energetics with John Pierrakos, MD. Tai Chi Chuan, with Tam Gibbs and Robert Smith (Professor Cheng man-Cheng’s yang short form) Pa-qua and Hsing-I with Robert Smith. She likes to garden, and is fond of white water rafting and hiking.

She lives in Port Orchard, Washington with her 10 year old son, near her daughter and grandchildren.
